SACO, Maine (AP) — Early morning motorists in Maine using Interstate 195 in Saco may be facing some delays.
Central Maine Power Co. says construction crews will install electrical wires over I-195 in Saco during the nighttime hours of Wednesday through Sunday. Interstate 195 is the feeder from the Maine Turnpike I-95 to Old Orchard Beach.
CMP’s made arrangements with state police to allow for closures of Interstate 195 for 20-minute periods between midnight and 5 a.m. The shutdowns will affect both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-195 between Exits 1 and 2 in Saco.
Alternative routes are available.
CMP spokesman John Carroll says the work is part of a $30 million investment to improve the capacity and reliability of the transmission system that serves Saco, Old Orchard Beach, Scarborough and Biddeford.
