PARIS — Firefighters from Paris and Norway responded to a reported fire at the former Paris Farmer’s Union complex on Skillings Avenue shortly after 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Fire Chief Brad Frost said smoke was coming from an outdoor cooking grill at a house on the Western Avenue side of the buildings. Dozens of residents came out of their houses to watch as firefighters went through each of the buildings to ensure there was no fire inside. A few residents said they smelled the smoke and initially thought it was coming from inside the complex.
Firefighters returned to quarters in about 30 minutes.
