- Rather than wait for local drug take-back days, people who want to dispose of unwanted or expired prescription drugs can now drop them into a metal box inside the Rumford Municipal Building opposite the police station dispatcher’s window. “This offers a flexibility to the community that we didn’t have before,” police Capt. Daniel Garbarini said. Liquid drugs are not being accepted at this time. Unless prior arrangements are made with Rumford police, the box is only available during regular Town Office hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
