PHILLIPS — Anne Katherine Hutchens, 56, died unexpectedly at her home in Phillips, Friday, June 22.
She was born in Jamaica, N.Y., Jan. 29, 1956, the daughter of John and Julia (Rath) Burns. She was educated in the schools of Long Island, N.Y., graduating from Saville High School, Class of 1974.
She married Edwin J. Hutchens Jr. in Farmington, July 22, 1995. For 20 years, she worked as a dietician at the Brookhaven Hospital in New York. She was employed by Sugarloaf Mountain Corp and for 15 years has served as the assistant librarian at the Phillips Public Library.
She loved to read, especially about the West and she loved to travel. She enjoyed being a mother and a wife.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin J. Hutchens Jr. of Phillips; her daughter, Mary Charlotte Hutchens of Phillips; two stepsons, Edwin Joseph Hutchens III and Christopher Michael Hutchens, both of New Mexico; two cousins; three nieces; and one nephew.
