- Zydeco superstar C.J. Chenier will bring his Louisiana band to the Saco River Theatre, formerly Saco River Grange Hall, in Bar Mills on Saturday, July 14. Beginning at 7:30 p.m., he’ll play lively dance music, mixing up blues, boogie and other styles. According to Billboard Magazine, C.J. is “the best living zydeco singer and accordionist, and heir to the Zydeco Throne (his father, Clifton Chenier, is the Grammy Award-winning “King of Zydeco).” A bayou buffet is planned for 5:30 p.m. in the Old White Church next to the theater. Admission is $30 for adults, $25 for students and seniors. Add $20 for the buffet. Reservations required for both. Call 929-6472.
