TOPSHAM — Nominations are now being accepted for the 2012 Breast Health Leadership Awards. The Maine Breast Health Cooperative honors one volunteer, advocate, professional or group effort that has contributed to breast health or the fight against breast cancer on the community, state and/or national level.
Nominees may be advocates, educators, leaders, role models, promoters of breast health or promoters of women’s issues. Professionals should be nominated for efforts that go above and beyond the scopes of their jobs. Groups may be businesses, clubs, families or others who work together to make a difference.
This year’s winners will be honored at the 15th annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month Silver Tea on Thursday, Sept. 27, hosted by Ann LePage, first lady of Maine, at the Blaine House.

The recipient of the 2011 award in the professional category was Donna Green, clinical manager of outpatient oncology at Maine Medical Center’s Cancer Institute and a resident of Pownal. The recipient of the volunteer award was PATCO Construction, a 27-year-old, family-owned business in Sanford.
