TURNER — A wide variety of summer courses and camps sponsored by MSAD 52 Adult and Community Education will begin the week of July 9.
Digital photography: Explore the concepts and techniques of photography and how they translate to the features on your digital camera. Bring your digital camera and user’s manual to class. Camera should be capable of manual operation.
Vinyasa yoga flow: Try this breath powered class and experience increased flexibility, mental clarity and restorative relaxation. Bring a water bottle, yoga mat and wear comfortable clothing.
Zumba: Get your Thursday mornings and Tuesday evenings going this summer with Zumba. The routines feature interval and resistant training to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat.
Dog obedience: Accomplish the simple goal of having a nice, courteous dog by learning corrections for behavior problems. Leashes and collars are required, approved by instructor. Dog’s rabies shots must be current.
Boat safety certification: Learn proper boating safety and operation. Laws, environmental ethics, emergencies, first aid and cold-water survival will be covered. Exam and 100 percent attendance is required.
Supervisory skills certificate: Learn what it really takes to manage a team, lead people through change, set goals for your company and handle difficult people.
Backyard herbalist: Familiarize yourself with a dozen local herbs that grow wild and can be cultivated. Learn the medicinal value of each herb and participate in making two herbal medicinal products that can be taken home and shared with the family.
Clay and pottery intro: Learn how to manipulate clay by hand building and throwing on the potter’s wheel. Basic modeling techniques and how to glaze ceramic pieces will be featured.
Beginner welding: Learn the general concept of welding fundamentals, principles and welding techniques required by the welding process. Students should wear a long sleeve shirt.
American Sign Language: A fun, basic beginners course in ASL. Learn colors, numbers and conversational signs.
