DIXFIELD — Ira Augustus Gammon Jr., 71, died Thursday, June 28, at his home on the Norton Road, Dixfield, with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Peru on May 23, 1941, the son of Ira and Mary (Lufkin) Gammon Sr. and had attended schools in Andover and Peru. Ira was a man of many talents, whether building construction or keeping the skidders in good running condition for logging. He was married in Steep Falls on June 5, 1999, to Joyce Stiles Gammon, who survives of Dixfield.
Other survivors include daughter, Lori Kersey and husband, Leo III of Dixfield; grandchildren, Brooke, Erik and Leo Kersey IV of Dixfield and Rosie Arsenault of Canton; stepchildren, Nick Rossi and wife, Patricia of Casco, Peter Rossi and companion, Debbie Farrah of Bridgton and Lori Marier and husband, Marc and their daughter, Juliette of Hong Kong; brothers, Clifford of Peru and Frank Gammon of Andover; sisters, Mary Bailey and husband, Clarence and Marilyn White of Andover; and several nieces and nephews.
