PORTLAND — Elizabeth F. “Betty” Gorman passed away peacefully at the Maine Medical Center on June 18 after a long illness.

She was born on July 5, 1936, in Queens, N.Y., the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Ferri. She was valedictorian of her high school class and graduated cum laude from Rivier College in Nashua, N.H. She most recently retired from L.L. Bean.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Gorman of Raymond; and her two sisters, Miss Caroline R. Ferri and Mrs. Margaret Veth, both of Queens, N.Y.
