PERU — Randy and Sharon Porter of Peru are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Melissa Paige Porter, to Brian Nicholas Carrier, son of Robert and Lisa Carrier of Rumford.

Miss Porter is a 2005 graduate of Dirigo High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington with a degree in community health. She is employed at the Hotel Rumford.

Mr. Carrier is a 2003 graduate of Mountain Valley High School and a 2011 graduate of the University of Phoenix with a degree in information technology. He is server administrator at RSU 10.

The wedding will be held Aug. 25.
