ITHACA, N.Y. — Amanda Martin, daughter of Jeanne and Dan Martin of Lewiston, has been named to the dean’s list with a 4.0 average for the spring semester at Cornell University. A 2009 graduate of Lewiston High School, Martin is majoring in theater and sociology.

BOSTON — Brittany Martin, daughter of Jeanne and Dan Martin of Lewiston, has been named to the dean’s list with distinction with a 3.75 average for the spring semester at Boston University. A 2011 graduate of Lewiston High School, Martin is majoring in graphic arts.

PORTLAND — Ariane E. Bowie of Biddeford, formerly of Greene, graduated from the University of Southern Maine on May 12 with her Bachelor’s of Social Work degree in which she was a dean’s list student.

Ariane also earned the Eta Mu chapter Phi Alpha National Social Work Honor for social work students dedicated to excellence in scholarship and high professional standards. She will continue her education in the fall at the University of New England in Biddeford where she has been accepted into the Advanced Standing one year MSW program.

While at USM Ariane interned at Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Portland and enjoyed working at the USM Gorham Art Gallery.

She is a 2008 graduate of St. Dominic’s Regional High School in Auburn. She is the daughter of Susan and Jack Hedrich of New Gloucester and Doug Bowie of Falmouth.

MELBOURNE, Fla. —  Abbie Cummings of Bethel was named to the dean’s list at Florida Institute of Technology for the spring semester, which ended in May. Cummings is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction management.
