CLEARWATER — A woman was found dead in her apartment early Saturday and detectives are investigating, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
Adrianne F. Robert, 29, was found unresponsive by her roommate about 3:30 a.m. in the apartment the two shared at 2958 Pinecone Circle, No. 54, in unincorporated Clearwater.
The nature of the young woman’s death remained unclear Saturday and sheriff’s officials released few details. Crime scene tape blocked a sidewalk leading to Robert’s apartment Saturday afternoon as technicians processed the scene. Authorities also taped off a car port designated for her car.
Detectives were working to piece together a timeline of the events before Robert’s death, officials said. No other information was immediately released.
Robert had lived in Florida since 2007 when she moved from her native Maine, her family said. She relocated to live with a boyfriend and took classes in graphic design at the University of South Florida.
“She was a very outgoing, very caring girl,” her father, Mark Robert, said when reached Saturday by phone at his home in Greene, Maine. “She would give the shirt off her back for you.”
He declined to discuss what might have happened to his daughter.
“It’s hard to tell you too much right now,” he said. “My mind’s not working right.”
Robert’s roommate, Jay Leffue, declined to comment.
Robert worked as a graphic artist for a company that produced advertising and marketing materials for local hotels, her father said. Graphic arts was always her passion. She obtained an associate’s degree in her field from the University of Maine before starting work on her bachelor’s at USF.
Her prior relationship ended, but she had found love with a new boyfriend, her father said. She was supposed to move in with him Saturday and had loaded her belongings into a car. Things were looking up for her.
“She had a smile that would change you so much,” said her mother, Dolores Robert. “She was a good daughter.”
