DIXFIELD — Police didn’t have far to travel Thursday night when a Lisbon Falls driver veered off U.S. Route 2 just beyond the police station.
Sgt. Jeff Howe said Friday there were no injuries in the 8:09 p.m. accident, but one civil violation was issued.
He said the incident started when officer Dustin Broughton received a complaint of erratic driving around 8 p.m.
Shortly afterward, Broughton radioed dispatch in Paris that the silver car had crashed just down from the police station.
Howe said the driver of the 2003 Chevy Cobalt, Amber Kittrell, 24, of Lisbon Falls, told Broughton she couldn’t remember what happened. Neither could her passenger, Steven Brewster, 29, no town given.
“She said she may have had an epileptic episode, but doesn’t recall the accident, just being pulled out of the vehicle,” Howe said.
He said an alcohol breath test was administered to Kittrell, and the result was below Maine’s legal limit.
However, Howe said Broughton discovered that Brewster had a synthetic form of marijuana called Spice, which is a civil infraction.
Broughton charged him with civil possession of a synthetic drug, which means he may face a possible fine in court if convicted, but no jail time, Howe said.
