Go! Malawi is a small nonprofit based in Hebron, established in 2004 by Hebron Academy teacher Janet Littlefield.
African art and textiles will also be available at the event, and proceeds of the festivities will benefit the people of the East African nation of Malawi. The reception and auction are free and open to the public.
The reception will be preceded by a Pitch-n-Putt tournament at the Hillcrest Golf Driving Range in Kennebunkport at 2 p.m. Prizes will be awarded.
Go!Malawi’s mission is to work with the local communities in the Ntchisi district of Malawi in self-sustaining programs of education, health care, and commerce. One hundred percent of all donations to Go! Malawi for The Ntchisi Project goes directly into the programs supporting orphan outreach, school scholarship funds, conservation, micro-loans and preventative health care and awareness.
For more information or to register for the reception and golf tournament, visit www.go-malawi.org or email janet@go-malawi.org.
- Guy Corriero will be among the artists with work at the Go! Malawi silent auction on Aug. 12.
