July 28 softball tournament

BRIDGTON — The Bridgton Recreation Department and Western Maine Cheering will host an Adult Coed Softball Tournament on Saturday, July 28, at Stevens Brook Elementary School.

The tournament has an eight team maximum, nine players per team minimum. All players must be 18 or older and each team must have three females on the field.

Registration forms available in the Bridgton Town Office and must be received by 4 p.m. on Friday, July 27. Registration fee is $200 per team, all funds to support Western Maine Cheering. Contact Tom Tash at 647-8786.

Craft, vendor sale benefits ‘Angels’

LEWISTON — A craft/vendor/bake sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at the Lewiston Elks Lodge, 1675 Lisbon St. All proceeds will go to Oxford Hills Angels Inc., a nonprofit agency that helps families in crisis and families at Christmas time.

There will be 40-plus vendors and crafters, lots of door prizes, 50/50 raffle and refreshments.

Dance July 28 at World’s Fair

WATERFORD — The Waterford World’s Fair Association will host the Country Ridge Riders for a dance at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at the dance hall at the fairgrounds, 36 Irving Green Road.

WEST PARIS — The West Paris Historical Society will hold their annual hall, yard and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 28.

Pet healing workshop

HARTFORD — Pinpoint of Light Spiritualist Camp will present Healing Your Pets, with Rev. Penny Frobese, at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 29.

Spiritual healing is as effective on pets as it is on humans. Pets’ body language tells when they are not feeling well. Eden, an 11-year-old shepherd mix, is beginning to show his age. During this workshop, participants will be asked to practice healing techniques on Eden, individually and as a group.

Practitioners of animal communication are welcome to attend. A $15 donation is suggested. This is the second workshop offered this summer and will be held at 546 Town Farm Road. In the event of inclement weather, it will be conducted at the Hartford Town Hall, Main Street.

Running deer, trap shoot July 29

OXFORD — The Lake Thompson Fish and Game Association will hold a Running Deer and Trap Shoot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 29, at the Club Range, Paine Road.

The cost for Running Deer is 50 cents per shot. The cost of Trap Shoot is $1.50 per round of five shots, of which 50 cents covers the cost of clay targets.

Event winners will receive one half of the pot.
