Craft, vendor sale benefits ‘Angels’
LEWISTON — A craft/vendor/bake sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at the Lewiston Elks Lodge, 1675 Lisbon St. All proceeds will go to Oxford Hills Angels Inc., a nonprofit agency that helps families in crisis and families at Christmas time.
There will be 40-plus vendors and crafters, lots of door prizes, 50/50 raffle and refreshments.
Marine Corps League to meet
AUBURN — Marine Corps League, Central Maine Detachment, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 26, at American Legion Post 31, Washington St.
Anyone interested in joining the league may call Ray Lemieux at 784-0656. All FMF corpsmen are invited to attend.
Legion clean-up day July 28
SABATTUS — American Legion Post 135 will hold a “Legion Clean-Up Day” at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 28. Members are encouraged to participate. For more information, call the post Friday after 6 p.m.
Legion to host ‘Trio’ band
SABATTUS — The Sabattus American Legion at 40 Island Road will host the band Trio from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 28. No cover charge. Donations accepted.
Family day open to public
AUBURN — Turner Street Community Church, 263 Turner St., will present Family Day in the parking lot, from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at the corner of Whitney and Vernon streets. Rain date is Sunday, July 29.
There will be a bouncy house, air hockey, water balloons, relay races and much more. Free admission. Everybody welcome.
Seniors meeting, outing, trips
SABATTUS — A short meeting will be held at the Maxwell Hall on Thursday, Aug. 2, as it is also the annual outing day.
A buffet will be served at noon consisting of finger rolls, fruit salad, potato salad, macaroni salad, a salad, pickles, chips, snack and a very special dessert for summer. The cost for the day will be $8, which includes the cost of games to be played in the afternoon. Doors will open at 11 a.m.
Those who haven’t signed up yet should call Betty at 946-7595 or Pauline at 375-4037. Deadline to sign up is Sunday, July 29.
The group plans the following trips: Clambake Restaurant in Scarborough and show on Aug. 21, $77 per person; Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Aug. 27-31, $469; and Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods, Nov. 12 and 13, $160. For more information call Jean at 784-5264. Everyone is invited.
