WINTHROP — PALS No Kill Shelter will hold a Family Fun Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at 188 Case Road. There will be games and prizes for the kids, shelter merchandise for sale, a giant sabertooth slide, food and drinks for sale and many other things to do. B98.5 will be doing a remote broadcast from 10 a.m. to noon.
PALS, which stands for Protectors of Animal Life Society, is a no-kill cat shelter that began in 1980 as a nonprofit, charitable organization. PALS is supported by memberships, fund-raising, memorial gifts, donations and bequests.
The shelter’s living space consists of several rooms where the cats roam freely and have access to enclosed outdoor pens. Occupancy can range from 80-120 cats at any given time. Donations are welcomed.
The shelter’s adoption charge is $85 for cats that have been fixed, tested for FIV and leukemia and vaccinated.
