Leonard Hoy was right on about the chasm separating the left from the right (July 22). The visions for this country of freedom and opportunity held by the conservatives differ greatly from the socialist and entitlement vision of those on the left.
He is also right about the Sun Journal publishing mostly leftist letters. Unfortunately, many of those are full of inaccuracies and, as evidenced by many rebuttals lately, many contain errors in reporting of facts (if the rebuttals are to be believed).
I would like to look forward to more balance and better screening of letters (without holding my breath).
I would also like to see some syndicated columns from papers other than the Washington Post as Election Day approaches in November.
