WINTHROP – Artist Amy Curtis will discuss her upcoming large-scale interactive installation on Tuesday, Aug.7,  at the Bailey Public Library.

“SPACE,” the seventh of Curtis’ planned nine exhibits of installation art, will be on view Oct. 6-26 on three floors throughout 27,500 square feet of the Winthrop Commerce Center, formerly Carlton Woolen Mill.

In 1998, Curtis began what will be an 18-year commitment to an art-making project featuring nine installation exhibits, each a 22-month process. All told, Curtis will install 81 large-in-scope, interactive works in the vast mills of Maine towns.

Fourteen years into the project, Curtis said that “SPACE” will feature the most ambitious work thus far.

The 6:30 p.m. talk is free. The library is on Bowdoin Street. For more information, call 377-8673.
