LEWISTON — Vincent Joseph Vitrano, 69, went home to be with the Lord on July 30. He had been a patient at Central Maine Medical Center for the past three days, following a long battle with lung disease.

He was born Dec. 4, 1942, in New York City, N.Y., the son of Jack and Justina (Guastella) Vitrano. He was educated in the schools of New York and New Jersey, graduating from Oakcrest High School in 1967.

He married Janice Frazier, Sept. 7, 1963, in Absecon, N.J. He worked for SAD 58 as a bus driver, retiring in 2002. He had made his home in Phillips for the past 32 years. He was a “jack-of-all-trades” and enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Janice of Phillips; four daughters, Sharon O’Neill and husband, Tim, of Cape Elizabeth, Karen Cole and husband, Harold, of Frederic, Mich., Deborah Vitrano of Phillips and Sherrie Flash and husband, Frank, of Cape May C.M.C.H., New Jersey; one brother, Peter Vitrano and wife, Claudia, of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Sally Lawrence of California; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister, Caroline Vitrano.
