LEWISTON — John Leslie Barton, 52, of West Main Street, Greene, died Saturday, July 28, at Central Maine Medical Center, with his RAFTS family at his side.
He was born in Portland, Nov. 21, 1959, the son of Lawrence and Shirley (Holbrook) Barton.
He grew up in Raymond, where he attended school and the Raymond Congregational Church, and continued his education in Vero Beach, Fla.
John loved fishing, Rock & Roll and camping. He was an avid Sea Dogs fan and enjoyed attending their home games. He also loved the annual trips to Old Orchard Beach with Kelli, Gail, Judith, Steve and Leo.
He will be sadly missed by his parents; his sisters, Pat Jorge and her husband Joe, of Altha, Fla., and Sher Hooper and her husband, Larry, of Jefferson; his brother, Tim Barton of Woolwich; and his family at RAFTS in Greene.
John was predeceased by his best friend, Dave Dow.
The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff at RAFTS Inc. and the residents of 75 West Main St. for the care and friendship they extended to John.
