WATERFORD — The Waterford Historical Society will present orchardist Scott Miller, manager and “apple doc” at Pietree Orchard, at 7 p.m. Aug. 9 at  the Wilkins Community House on Plummer Hill Road.

Participants can learn about Waterford’s apple growing heritage and local food economies, and about apple varieties, Heritage apples and contemporary cultivars.

There will be potluck apple desserts. Participants should bring an apple dessert to share.
