TURNER — Selectmen are inching closer to setting a tax rate.
On Monday, the five-member board talked with assessors and announced that a rate would be determined at the next meeting, scheduled for Aug. 20.
“It is looking like a minimal increase,” said Sandi Philipon, who serves as an assessing clerk for the town.
Selectmen also looked at bids for several upcoming public works projects, including roadside mowing and rock-crushing at the town pit.
The discussion was led by the town’s new public works director, John Moultrie. He started in the newly created position July 1.
