Family reunion
CARTHAGE — The Hutchinson family reunion will be held Saturday, Aug. 11, at the former Grange Hall. A potluck dinner will be served at noon followed by a business meeting and entertainment.
4-H fundraiser
FARMINGTON — Giddy-Up and Go 4-H Horse Club will hold a fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, to support a club member who will be going to the Eastern States 4-H Horse Show as part of the Maine Equine Team. The fundraiser, a food sale, will be held in conjunction with Aubuchon Hardware’s Farm Swap Day on the Wilton Road.
This is the first time the club has a member going to Eastern States in West Springfield, Mass. The club is six years old and up until now few members have been old enough to try out for the team.
Aiden Shankland, a founding members of the club, is on the team. She and her horse, Country Shamrock, have competed in local 4-H horse shows since 1997. They will show in the Western pleasure classes in Massachusetts.
The club will sell baked goods made by the members and their families, as well as steamed hot dogs during the Farm Swap. Cold bottled water will be available for a donation. There will also be jams and jellies.
Proceeds from the sales will help defray expenses of the trip to Eastern States Exposition in September.

Legion events
PHILLIPS — The Phillips Old Home Days schedule of events for Prescott Fairbanks Post 64, American Legion (the old Train Depot), 15 Depot St., are announced.
On Wednesday, Aug. 15, at 6:30 p.m. there will be cribbage (doubles only) for $5 a person.
There will be a vendor, craft and food sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17. After the parade, special bingo will be held around 6:30 p.m.
Regular bingo will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18.
Refreshments will be available at all scheduled events.
