Heavy rains helped fell this rotting willow tree late Friday afternoon in Ramsey Harrington’s yard onto Sunday River Road in Newry. “We had about half an inch of rain in five minutes,” Alan Fleet, Newry firefighter, said. Fellow firefighter Roland Hebert said the tree was about 150 years old and narrowly missed a spruce that would have taken down power lines had it fallen.
