DURHAM — Both drivers escaped injury in a two-car, rear-end crash on Route 136 on Saturday evening.
The investigating officer, Androscoggin County Deputy Sheriff Eric Samson, identified the drivers as Michael Higgins, 42, of Durham, and Jessica Pomeroy, 38, of Piedmont, S.C.
According to Samson, both vehicles were traveling north on Route 136 when Pomeroy stopped for traffic. Higgins, who was behind her, was unable to stop his vehicle in time to avoid a collision and struck the rear of Pomeroy’s car at around 6:40 p.m.
Damage to the front of Higgins’ 2012 Kia was estimated at $4,500; damage to Pomeroy’s 2006 Mazda, $1,800.
No charges were filed.
