PERU — The Worthley Pond Association celebrated it’s annual Christmas In July the weekend of July 27.

Highlights included cottages decorated with festive lights, decorated trees (real and artificial), inflated snowmen, santas, and reindeer. Boats circled the pond decorated in the Christmas spirit.

The association said this year was even bigger and better than last. Almost three quarters of the cottages were decorated. Judges were Rumford Selectman Jolene Lovejoy and her husband, Richard. They said they were impressed with the overall participation by Worthley Pond residents.

Winners for best cottage decorations were: first, Steve Gallant, Greenwoods Road, whose entire yard was ablaze with lights and displays; second, Cindy Hamanne, Parady Lane; third, Peter and Pat Brawn, Irish Farm Road; and honorable mention, Bill and Kathy Hussey, LaPointe Road, and Phil and Kathy Buskey, Irish Farm Road.
