LEWISTON — Eugenia E. Strout, 87, a former resident of Greene died on Aug. 15, at d’Youville Pavilion.
She was born Dec. 18, 1924, in Danforth, the daughter of Leander and Annie Vortour Hall. Eugenia attended school in Danforth.
On Oct. 25, 1941, in Danforth, Eugenia and Sewell Chester Strout were married; Sewell passed away in 1994.
Eugenia worked as a cook at the Greene Central school, was a department manager at Mammoth Mart and at Zayres Department stores in Lewiston; retiring in 1983.
She was a doting grandmother, who enjoyed knitting, cooking and ironing. Eugenia was a member of the Greene Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Russell L. Strout Sr. and his significant other, Rose Newman, of Greene and Brian L. Strout and his wife, Anna, of Spartanburg, S.C.; three grandchildren, Jenny Rose and her husband, Kevin, Russell Strout Jr. and Shelly Ham; four great-grandchildren, Emily Rose, Haley Rose, Trista Ham and Riley Strout; and her sister, Mary Hall of Houlton.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Sewell; two sisters, Ruby Hall and Pearl Matarazzo; and four brothers, Omar Hall, Leander Hall, Tom Foley and Bill Foley.
