AUGUSTA — Gary A. Mulherin Sr., 66, a resident of Hallowell Road, Litchfield, died Monday, Aug. 13, at MaineGeneral Medical Center after a long illness.
He was born in Lewiston, Aug. 6, 1946, the son of Forrest and Sybil Bennett Mulherin. Gary attended school in Monmouth and Litchfield. He worked as a pipe welder for Local 783.
Gary enjoyed hunting with his brothers and father and also enjoyed fishing, cooking was one of his passions and also loved to tease his grandchildren. He was a Mason and a past master of Morning Star Lodge 41 in Litchfield.
He is survived by two daughters, Wendy Douglass and her companion, James Sweeney, of Jay and Brenda Emmons and her companion, Arthur Clukey, of Litchfield; three sons, Gary Jr. and his wife, Denise, of Wales, Todd and his wife, Amy, of Litchfield and Timothy, of Litchfield; nine grandchildren, James and Jessica Douglass, Katelynn and Kyle Emmons and Brianna, Kelsea, Nicholas, Dylan and Brent Mulherin; a sister, Melanie Mulherin and her good friend, Vernelle Fast, of Fayette; two brothers, Roger Mulherin and his wife, April, of Chesterville and Vernon Hoyt and his wife, Ada, of Mechanic Falls; and his former wife, Cynthia Cooper Mulherin, of Litchfield.
He was predeceased by his parents; five brothers; and two sisters.
