POLAND — Police on Saturday were looking for a 1980s rust-colored Chevrolet van driven by a white man after an attempted kidnapping of a state park employee at Range Pond on Saturday.

Androscoggin County Sheriff’s deputies said the female employee was working at the booth at the state park at about 2:40 p.m. when she was approached by the man driving the van.

He attempted to pull her into the van and then fled the area. Police did not say which way he went.

The van is described as rust or orange and brown with square headlights and tinted rear windows. The van had no rear license plate and a paper decal was covering the front registration plate.

The driver was described as a skinny white male, 40 years old or older, with a big nose.
