LIVERMORE — A 2-year-old girl has been injured in an ATV crash in Maine.

The Maine Warden Service says 25-year-old John Walker was riding the ATV on a small dirt track alongside the Androscoggin River in Livermore on Monday when the accident happened. He had his daughter in front of him.

Authorities say the throttle on the machine got stuck and the ATV sped out of control, throwing Walker and his daughter into a tree.

The Warden Service says the girl was not wearing a helmet. She was flown to a hospital with facial injuries. Walker was taken to a hospital with leg injuries.

Officials say the incident remains under investigation.
