Returning athletes: Boys: Senior — Marc Hachey, Dylan Berney; Sophomores — Ben Allen, Nick Charest, Isaac Johnson; Girls: Junior — Molly Kieltyka.
Key losses: Kameron Souza.
Promising newcomers: Boys: Freshmen — Mathias Deming, Nick Dwelle, Michael Neumann; Girls: Freshmen — Angel Abbott, Kaitlin Souza, Alison Berube, Ellie Choate.
Outlook: Van Tassel, Winthrop’s nordic skiing coach, takes over a small but talented team that should contend in the MVC and, if they stay healthy, beyond. Hachey and Berney finished 16th and 24th, respectively, at states last year, while Allen, Charest and Johnson all qualified as freshmen. Kieltyka qualified for states as a freshman but had to sit out with an injury last year. Abbott leads a strong freshman class.
