Key losses: Nikki Burgess (B), Paige Wood (B).
Promising newcomers: Senior — Quahnah Cummings (B): Junior — Cat Ouellette (utility).
Outlook: Winthrop stormed the state final with a young team in 2011, losing 1-0 to NYA after dominating play through long stretches of the game. The Ramblers are motivated to finish the job. Kaiser and Ingram were the team’s leading scorers a year ago. Arsenault is stellar in goal. Senior captains Blanchard, Scott and Kaiser are four-year contributors. The return of Cummings and Ouellette after a year away will give the Ramblers an additional boost. It looks like a strong overall year for the MVC, which should only help Winthrop as it prepares for another playoff run.
