NEW GLOUCESTER — Lymebuddies offers support to those who are affected by Lyme disease, and to raise awareness about this illness they are holding the 2nd annual Lyme-Aid Family Music Fest from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, at Thompson’s Orchard, 276 Gloucester Hill Road.
Bring lawn chairs and picnic to enjoy great local Maine talent while helping to raise awareness of Lyme Disease. There will be vendors, kids activities, food, as well as apple picking, arts and crafts and a farmers market at the orchard. $10 suggested donation per family. All are welcome.
There will be at seven local musical acts with something for everyone including Lincoln Continental, Elroy Saint, Regina Lucchese, Nick Racioppi, The Mutineers, Brazen Cane and The Grumps.
All proceeds will go to directly to supporting those with Lyme disease and Lyme disease awareness.
Early symptoms of Lyme disease include flu-like symptoms, swollen lymph nodes, headaches, fatigue, muscle and joint aches that make day-to-day functions such as going to work, looking after a family or doing regular housework very difficult and sometimes impossible.
LymeBuddies was started by two Maine moms who have both struggled with advanced Lyme disease. They seek to provide information and support for Lyme disease and other tick borne illnesses. Visit www.lymebuddies.com for more info.
