WINTHROP — Gary “Bogie” Stephen Bourisk, 60, of Winthrop died Monday, Sept. 10, at his home with his family by his side.

Gary was born in Lewiston, Oct. 18, 1951, the son of Randolph and Edna (Gibson) Bourisk.

He grew up in Winthrop and was educated in Winthrop schools. He studied at West Virginia University Institute of Technology.

Gary was an outstanding all-around natural athlete, especially excelling in baseball, football and gymnastics during his high school years. He continued to enjoy baseball, playing American Legion baseball, where he was chosen as an All-Star for the Hearse All New England team and had the honor of playing at Fenway Park. He also enjoyed playing softball in area adult leagues. He was passionate about golf and was a member of Springbrook Golf Club for many years. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing and hunting.

In 1977, he married Terry Hartung of Manchester and they recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary.

He enjoyed a long career in sales with Aetna Pumps and then Blake Equipment, retiring in 2011.

He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by his wife, Terry, of Winthrop; his mother, Edna Bourisk, of Winthrop; three brothers, Tobey Bourisk and his wife, Vickie, of Westbrook, Jeff Bourisk and his wife, Johnna, of Winthrop and Rick Bourisk and his partner, Leanne Mercier, of Santa Cruz, Calif.; his sister, Shelly Bourisk and her partner, Steve Gaboury, of Winthrop; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alton “Honk” and Alice Hartung of Manchester; his brother-in-law, Dallas Hartung and his wife, Emily, of Farmington; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and many, many friends.

Gary was predeceased by his father, Randolph Bourisk in 2007; and his son, Christopher Bourisk in 2010.
