NEW GLOUCESTER — Local cable access television will host two legislative candidate forums in October that are open to the public.

The first forum will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 8; incumbent Sen. Lois Snowe-Mello and challenger John Cleveland will participate in a Senate District 15 forum.

The second forum will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 22; incumbent Rep. Eleanor Espling and challenger Nichole Stevens will take part in a House District 105 forum.

Both events will be held at the New Gloucester Meetinghouse, 389 Intervale Road, and resident Beverly Cadigan will serve as the moderator. Questions from the floor will not be entertained; however, voters are requested to send in questions to be asked by the moderator.

After each forum, the candidates will be available for one-half hour to speak one on one with the citizens present. This followup will not be televised.

The deadlines for submitting questions are Wednesday, Oct. 3, for the Senate forum and Wednesday, Oct. 17, for the House. Send questions either by email to ngcabletv@gmail.com or by USPS to NGTV, Town of New Gloucester, 385 Intervale Road, New Gloucester, ME 04260.

Both forums will be telecast live and will be rebroadcast on Channel 3 following the live broadcasts on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., leading up to Election Day. Also, the programs will be available as video on demand at www.newgloucester.com.
