Artist giving walking tour

OQUOSSOC — Highly acclaimed artist John Swan will give visitors a walking tour of his paintings exhibited at the Rangeley Outdoor Sporting Heritage Museum. Swan will be at the museum on Saturday, Sept. 22, from noon to 3 p.m.

Swan divides his time between his home and studio in Portland, his summer home in the Rangeley Lakes and winters in the Bahamas, taking inspiration from those very special places and people. The remarkable diversity of his work is highly sought after by art collectors around the world.

Dinner/dance to aid library

WELD — Welcome fall at the annual dinner/dance to benefit the Weld Public Library, on Saturday, Sept. 29. A buffet-style dinner will be served at 6 p.m. at the Kawanhee Inn, Anne’s Way, for a donation of $25 per person.  

After a dinner on the shores of Webb Lake, step onto the dance floor with Farmington’s own band Shepard’s Pie. Tickets are expected to be sold out, so buy them early at the Weld Public Library, the Weld General Store or Skoolhouse Variety in Weld.
