LIVERMORE — Volunteers are needed to help paint the Livermore Highway Garage on Church Street between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, town administrative assistant Kurt Schaub said.
The project is part of the United Way Days of Caring.
In collaboration with the Rural Community Action Ministry, the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area is organizing Days of Caring in the Livermore, Livermore Falls and Jay area.
The project is part of a summer-long effort to make a difference in greater Franklin County.
Volunteers will also be building interior storm window panels as part of the Community Energy Challenge from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This Day of Caring will launch six consecutive Saturday workshops hosted by the First Baptist Church on Church Street in Livermore Falls.
Householders living in Livermore and Livermore Falls in northern Androscoggin County and those in Franklin County are eligible to participate, according to a news release.
Those receiving fuel assistance are eligible for up to six free panels, while others pay $1.50 a linear foot.
It is a great way to get involved in your community, the release said: “Give an hour or give a day, meet new people and make a difference.”
All skill levels are welcome, there’s always something for someone to do. There will be a site leader at each event overseeing the project. Days of Caring will be held rain or shine.
