SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Air National Guard Airman Abbie L. Currier graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Currier earned distinction as an honor graduate. She is the daughter of Samuel Currier of South Old Canyon Avenue, Tucson, Ariz., and granddaughter of Linwood Currier of Swan Road, New Sharon, Maine. The airman is a 2007 graduate of Cienega High School, Vail, Ariz. She earned an associate degree in 2010 from Pima Community College, Tucson.
