WILTON — The Wilton Academy Class of 1952 held its 60-year reunion on July 21 at the Wilson Lake home of Marie and Frank Young. Those in attendance were Edgar Beisaw, Bette Lou Clark, Richard Dyke, Lois Henry, Louise Lake, Terry Mayo, Cynthia Osgood, Phil Rafter, Lauren Rollins, Sherrill McGrath, Janet Sylvester and Frank Young.

A “surf and turf” meal was held and the clams,  lobsters and fixings were brought in by Richard Dyke in his new seven-seat helicopter, which his pilot landed on the top of a hill on the property of Rocky and Mary Jane Baker, Route 2 and Lake Road.

Potato salad, deviled eggs, fruit salad, homemade bread and desserts were provided by members of the class. David Weeks grilled the steaks.

The class and others present were entertained by the Seminole Wind Band with mostly 1950s country music by Donna and Jeff Wells for three hours.

At the beginning of the afternoon, a short business meeting was called by Frank Young. Communications from James Armstrong (California) and Carol Leach (Iowa) were read. Janet Sylvester commented on her communication from Myles Brown (Colorado).

Frank Young brought a message from Russel Berry in regard to his wife, Barbara, and her illness. He said he would like everyone to remember her. A moment of silence/remembrance was held for the husband of Cynthia Osgood (Thornton), who died on Jan. 1, 2012.

Lois Henry closed with a blessing on the food, those in attendance and those unable to attend, plus the activities of the day.

The class will meet at 2 p.m. on the third Saturday of July, 2013, at the home of Frank and Marie Young, Wilson Lake.
