AUBURN — Installation of Officers will be observed at Danville Junction Grange on Thursday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m. Present will be Installing Master Victoria Huff, Overseer of the Maine State Grange, and her suite of officers. LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Lewiston Memorial Armory on Sept. 20 were: first place, Donna Aube and Henry Maheux; second, Gerry Therrien and Aaron Burke; third, Bob Leclair and Bryan Lambert; fourth, Jeanne Collette and Arnie Burgess; fifth, Ike LeCompte and Gary David.

Alzheimer’s Walk is Sept. 29

LEWISTON/AUBURN — The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s will take place at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion, Parking Lot D, 102 Campus Ave., Lewiston.

Over 200 participants will have the option of walking 3.2 miles or 1.7 miles while they learn about Alzheimer’s disease and how to get involved with this critical cause, from advocacy opportunities, the latest in Alzheimer’s research and clinical trial enrollment to support programs and services. Walkers will also join in a meaningful ceremony to honor those affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

“Funds raised will provide care and support services to the 37,000 residents of Maine living with Alzheimer’s, while also contributing to advancing critically-needed research,” said Laurie Trenholm, executive director of the Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter. Last year, Maine walks raised more than $420,000 contributing to more than $47.2 million raised nationwide for care, support and research efforts for those impacted by Alzheimer’s.

Multiple walks are being held on Sept. 29 in Augusta, Calais and Sanford. Walks will be hosted in Fort Kent, Wilton and Bangor on Oct. 6. For more information, visit www.alz.org/walk.

Sabattus Seniors meet Oct. 4

SABATTUS — The Sabattus Seniors will hold their monthly meal and meeting on Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Maxwell Hall. Doors open at 11 a.m.

Upcoming trips include one to Indian Head on Saturday, Nov. 10, for $59 per person. A trip to Mohegan and Foxwood Casinos will take place Monday, Nov. 12, and Tuesday, Nov. 13, for $160 per person, including transportation, hotel, four meals and King of Country Show.

An Atlantic City trip is planned for April 29 through May 2, for $301 and a $75 bonus. New York City will be the destination June 7-10. Cost is $445, which includes transportation, hotel, six meals and tours, possibly including one to the Sept. 11 monument. A trip to Washington, D.C. is planned for Sept. 12-17. Cost of $509 includes transportation, hotel, eight meals and all tours.
