LIVERMORE FALLS — The Treat Memorial Library Annual Book Sale is underway. The sale kicked off on Sept. 29; because the Apple Pumpkin Festival of Livermore Falls was rescheduled to Saturday, Oct. 13, the sale will continue until 3 p.m. on Oct. 13. Come in during regular library hours and browse for bargains on CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes and books for all ages.

Two raffles are ongoing to raise money to restore the cupola atop the library. The first is a 50/50, which means the winner will receive 50 percent of the proceeds from the sale of the 50/50 tickets. The second raffle features a choice of 14 different items: ceramic pie dish donated by Phoenix Pottery; overnight cottage stay and hot tub experience donated by Raven’s Crossing Rustic Spa Retreat; garden/yard wood chips; breakfast for two at LaFleur’s Restaurant; a large canvas dog tote filled with dog treats; pet portraiture certificate with photographer Lisa Bryant; fresh centerpiece bouquet from the Flower Barn; one dozen fresh farm eggs and one loaf of fresh baked bread from Counterpoint Farm; a $25 gift certificate from Mill Street Cafe; two sets of two tickets for any performance at New England Celtic Arts Skye Theatre; a $25 gift certificate from Robin’s Flower Pot Garden and Nursery Center; framed and matted large color garden photograph by Cindy Rehagen Langewisch; and a $25 gas gift card from Pike’s Corner Oasis. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and are available at the library.

The library is also selling canvas tote bags with the new library logo on them. The totes are 15 inches by 15 inches with the logo in dark green and only $6 each.

Preschool Story Time is held each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. with Miss Cindy. Join her for stories, crafts and fun. Family Story Time is also led by Miss Cindy on Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. and is for everyone.

The new bookdrop is in place, custom made for the library by Howie’s Welding. The bookdrop has two slots, one large and one small. The large slot is for books, of course, but the small slot is for DVDs and CDs. The old bookdrop beside the front door has been sealed with a new sign listing the library’s hours. When returning items while the library is open please bring them inside to the Circulation Desk. The new bookdrop is intended to be used during the hours the library is closed.

Patrons may log in to their own account and access the Download Library through the online catalog at treat.biblionix.com/atoz/catalog. The library has recently added new DVDs and new books on CDs. Click on “See what’s hot” for a list of all the new items.
