BUCKFIELD — Tricky Britches of Portland will bring its old-time fiddle tunes, classic bluegrass, country and folk rock to Buckfield Junior/Senior High School on Sunday, Oct. 14.
The high-energy band will give a free concert from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
The event, put on by the Nezinscot Valley Music Boosters, will also feature the third annual Nezinscot Valley Chili and Chowder Cook-off. For $5, attendees can sample all the chilies or chowders and cast a vote for the best. Complimentary cornbread and water included. For entry information, call Meghan at 336-2557.
Proceeds from the cook-off will benefit the Nezinscot Valley Music Boosters, a nonprofit organization supporting music and the performing arts at Hartford-Sumner Elementary and Buckfield Junior/Senior High School.
In the summer of 2010, Tricky Britches toured 13 countries in Europe before returning Stateside to focus on building a following throughout the Eastern United States.
Making up the band are Tyler Lienhardt , vocals, washboard, fiddle; Jed Bresette, vocals, guitar, bass; Seth Doyle, vocals, mandolin, harmonica, guitar, bones; and Ryan “Bear” Wilkinson, vocals, tenor banjo, guitar, bass.
