Rumford Grange harvest dinner

RUMFORD — Rumford Grange 115 will have a harvest dinner on Sunday, Oct. 14, at the Rumford Center Grange Hall.

The meal will include corned beef, ham, potatoes, vegetables, pickles, biscuits, drinks and famous homemade pies by the Grange Ladies. Adults, $10; under 12, $5. Dinner will be served from noon to 2 p.m.

Gorizia Lodge meet, supper

RUMFORD — The Gorizia Lodge 467 of the Sons of Italy will hold its next meeting on Monday, Oct. 15, at 6 p.m. at the hall in Smithcrossing. All members are encouraged to attend.

A pasta supper will be prepared by Stella and her crew on Thursday, Oct. 25, starting at 5 p.m. at the hall. Menu items include pasta, meatballs, salad, rolls, a dessert and drinks for $8.

Girl Scout info night

BETHEL — Girl Scouts of Maine will host a parent information and registration meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Crescent Park Elementary School.

Girls and adults are invited to attend the meeting to find out about the many different and fun ways today’s girls are participating in Girl Scouting and how the programs and activities inspire them to reach their personal best. Participants will also learn about the flexible options and benefits of becoming a Girl Scout volunteer.

ANDOVER — The Snow Valley Snowmobile Club will hold its annual Landowner Appreciation and Public Supper on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Congregational Church. The dinner menu will be baked ham, mashed potato, green beans and assorted homemade pies.

Pumpkin festival for Relay for Life

RUMFORD — Cancer Crusaders and Great Memiers Misfitz team will hold a pumpkin festival from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at 320 Isthmus Road. A costume contest will be judged at 1 p.m.

Activities will include games, crafts, face painting and a costume contest with prizes. Contest categories are 0-6 years and 7-12 years.

The cost for admission is $5 per child. Parents are free. All proceeds will benefit Relay for Life.

Living beyond breast cancer

RUMFORD — On Tuesday, Oct. 23, The Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing and Rumford Hospital will sponsor Dr. Nicholette Erickson addressing some of the common issues cancer survivors face. She will talk about fatigue, motivation to move more and return to daily activities and stress management. She will also touch on the need for support from others who have shared the experience.

The program will be presented from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Rumford Hospital’s Conference Room A on the ground floor.
