Neighborly Seniors to meet
PERU — The Neighborly Seniors will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the old Peru School.
A roast pork dinner will follow at noon in observance of the club’s 43rd anniversary. The cost is $6.

DIXFIELD — Girl Scouts of Maine will be hosting the following parent information and registration meetings in the Rumford, Mexico, Dixfield, Canton and Peru area.

Girls and adults are invited to attend the meeting to find out about the many different and fun ways today’s girls are participating in Girl Scouting and how the programs and activities inspire them to reach their personal best. Participants will also learn about the flexible options and benefits of becoming a Girl Scout volunteer.

Thomas College rep to visit
BETHEL — A representative from Thomas College will visit Telstar High School at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24.
The representative will meet with students to discuss Thomas’ academic and sports programs, and its residential life opportunities.
Widows, widowers group to meet
RUMFORD — Widows or Widowers Sharing will meet at noon Friday, Oct. 26, at Rumford Senior Center, 50 Congress St.
Potluck will be served. Entertainment will be a game of Let’s Make a Deal.
Members can come in costume or just a crazy hat. Dues are now payable at $10 for the year.

Auction benefit Billings family
RUMFORD — A Take-A-Chance auction to benefit the Billings family will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, at Mountain Valley High School.
Doors open at 1 p.m. Drawings start at 3 p.m. There will also be a 50/50 raffle.
Proceeds will go toward a new livestock barn.
Benefit for Stacey Laliberty
RUMFORD — A benefit for Stacey Laliberty will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Eagles.
There will be a Chinese auction, community yard sale, bake sale, food sale and 50/50 raffle. Scott Grassette will perform a show for kids from 10 to 11 a.m. and Sammy Angel will sing from 1 to 2 p.m.
Networking Meeting planned
MEXICO — The next Community Networking Meeting sponsored by the River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 31, at noon. Attendees should bring a lunch.
The meeting will be held at Region 9, School of Applied Technology, 377 River Road. Buzz in at the side door and sign in with reception. The meeting will be held on the second floor next to the elevator.
Pam Bevins, operations manager of Western Valley Access Channel, will give a background of the station and the resources they have available for organizations to get their information out to the communities.
Other agenda items include community updates from the Healthy Communities as well as from other River Valley organizations.
