AUBURN — The Auburn Fireside Inn will host the second installment of Comedy Fix, a stand-up comedy fundraising series, at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26.
Performers include Portland area veteran comics Brett Groh, Connor McGrath, James Spizuoco, Ian Stuart, Jordan Handren-Seavey and Kyron Hobdy. Comedy Fix founder Mark Turcotte will host.
Net proceeds will benefit the Maine chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
Stuart has received rave reviews in Stage Time Magazine and Dispatch Magazine for his first CD release, “Day Drinker.” Handren-Seavey won the 2012 Portland’s Funniest Professional Contest; and Hobdy, who has performed throughout New England, was recently booked to perform for the Special Forces in Fort Bragg, N.C.
The first Comedy Fix show sold out with more than 200 in attendance and raised $1,200 for the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing.
“It really is a winning combination. People can enjoy an evening of affordable, high-quality entertainment while supporting a worthy cause,” Turcotte said.
NAMI-Maine, a grassroots, nonprofit, is dedicated to improving the quality of life of anyone affected by mental illness. Services are provided directly and through a statewide structure of local affiliates and support groups.
