Indoor walking program

BRIDGTON — Stay active and fit through the difficult weather by attending Step Into Fitness Indoor Walking Program at Lake Region High School.

The Bridgton Community Center will offer this important program in cooperation with Lake Region High School. The schedule is flexible; arrive anytime between 4:30 and 6 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays starting Oct. 22 through May 3 and leave when you get tired.

Participants can continue a walking program or begin one in a weather-free environment complete with benches, music and bathrooms.

Participants should go to the front entrance of Lake Region High School; walking will take place in the front corridor. A volunteer from the Bridgton Community Center will greet attendees. For more information call 647-3116.

Democrats supper

NORWAY — The Oxford County Democrats will hold a fundraising supper Friday, Oct. 26, at 5:30 p.m. at Second Congregational Church, on the corner of Main and Paris streets, across from the Rowe School.

On the menu is ham, baked beans, mac and cheese, veggies, rolls, green and jello salads, hors d’oeuvres and apple crisp. The event speaker will be Mike Tipping, popular writer on politics for the Bangor Daily News and formerly for DownEast. Several Maine democratic candidates will also be at the event.

Cost for the dinner is $10 and there is plenty of free parking both at the church and in the hospital parking lot behind the church.

Food Pantry is open Friday

OTISFIELD — The Food Pantry will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct 26, at East Otisfield Free Baptist Church, Rayville Road. The pantry is open on the fourth Friday of every month. For more information, call 539-4619.

Last indoor yard sale

WATERFORD — The last indoor yard sale of the season will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 27, on Plummer Hill, next to the First United Church Of Christ. There will be holiday decorations, a good selection of books, children and adult games, like-new items that can be used for Christmas gifts, puzzles, something for everyone. Proceeds to benefit the maintenance fund of the two buildings.

Turkey supper at Legion Hall

PARIS — A turkey supper with a variety of hot vegetables and pies followed by a dance will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, at the American Legion Hall, Church Street.

The Legion Auxiliary will serve the meal from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The dance will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Music provided by the Jones Band.

The cost for supper and dance is $8 per adult and $4 for children under 12.

Community youth fellowship event

OTISFIELD — The East Otisfield Church, at 231 Rayville Road, will be hosting an event for local Otisfield youth on Sunday, Oct. 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. All youth ages 11 to 15 are invited to share in an evening of fun, make-your-own pizzas and planning for future events. In addition to pizza there will be vegetables and dip, other healthy snack foods and beverages.

Youth do not need to be members of the East Otisfield Church, or any church at all. This is intended to be a place of gathering, sharing pizza and laughter with new and old friends.

Organizers need some idea on how many to expect in order to plan appropriately; call Rev. Genise Stern at 627-3126 or the church at 539-2241 by Friday, Oct. 26. Attendees are invited to bring a favorite group game.

Senior Citizens to meet Nov. 14

LOCKE MILLS — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Locke Mills American Legion Hall.

Chicken pie will be served. The cost is $11.
