OTISFIELD — The Spurrs Corner Church will hold its second annual Otisfield roadways clean-up day Sunday, Oct. 28.

All area residents are invited to meet at 8 a.m. at the church at 1005 State Route 121 for a light breakfast. Work teams will be organized and assigned a section of town roadway at 9 a.m.

Safety equipment, first-aid kits, garbage bags and water will be supplied by the church with additional safety equipment and project support provided by the Otisfield Volunteer Fire Department and the Town of Otisfield.

Returnable bottles recovered during the clean-up will be donated to the Fire Department.

The event will be held rain or shine and will only be cancelled in case of severe weather.

Participants are urged to wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear including an item in blaze orange for safety.

The church will not hold regular morning services on clean-up day. Members consider cleaning the roadways to be an act of worship.
