LEWISTON — The Maine Community Foundation in partnership with College for ME-Androscoggin has announced the current round of Thomas W. and Beulah Long Musgrave Fund Scholarships designed for adult students currently enrolled in college. This $1000 scholarship provides support for tuition and fees for adult learners who are enrolled in an accredited program of study leading to a degree, certification or similar recognition.
College for ME-Androscoggin will award up to six $1000 scholarships to adult students residing in Androscoggin County for the semester or term beginning after Jan. 1.
Adult learners are students who do not go to college directly from high school and have a significant gap between high school and entering college. Preference is given to those for whom the scholarship would make a significant difference in their ability to attend school. Previous Musgrave Fund Scholarship recipients may reapply once for this scholarship if they are in good academic standing at their college at the time of reapplication.
Eligible adult students must have resided in Maine for the previous five years, currently reside in Androscoggin County, demonstrate financial need and good character as well as a seriousness of purpose.
The deadline to apply is Nov. 16. Applications are available at www.collegeformeandroscoggin.org/adults/money-for-college/scholarships or by contacting College for ME-Androscoggin at 753-6556 or at area college financial aid offices.
