Pie sale benefits Legion
BUCKFIELD — A pie sale will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at Northeast Bank, Depot Street. Proceeds will benefit American Legion Auxiliary Post 58.
Norway Halloween Fest
NORWAY — Halloween is coming to Main Street Norway on Friday, Oct. 26. Children and adults from everywhere are invited to participate in the Norway Halloween Fest from 2 to 5 p.m.
Participants can “Start Where You Park” or pick up a trick-or-treat bag and activity map at the Norway Memorial Library, Ari’s, town square or the Fire Station.
Among the characters greeting visitors will be Smokey the Bear, Sparky, Baxter, Cat In The Hat, Samantha The Skunk, Oakie and Newbie may even be ‘sneakin’ around. Other surprises are also planned.
Many businesses on Main Street are participating. They will have a pumpkin on their door if they are participating in the Trick or Treat on Main Street. The Key Club and DECA will volunteer at stores.
This year’s Norway Halloween Festival is sponsored by Norway Downtown, Norway Recreation Department, Norway Memorial Library, Healthy Oxford Hills and Main Street Businesses with the help and participation of many other individuals and organizations. Paris Library Halloween fest
PARIS — The Children’s Room at the Paris Public Library will host its annual Halloween Festival on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 1 to 3 p.m. Area children are invited to the library that afternoon to enjoy a variety of ghastly games, spooky stories, creepy crafts and scary snacks. Coming in costume is encouraged.

Moore-Leamon to give sermon
PARIS — The First Universalist Church on Pine Street will feature Silver Moore-Leamon as the guest speaker for the 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Oct. 28. Imagination is the topic of Moore-Leamon’s sermon.
Music is under the direction of Donna Hurd and Sunday School is under the direction of Renee Wales. Coffee and fellowship will follow the worship service and all are welcome. Childcare is available.
Church Clothing Center
HARTFORD — Hartford Community Church Clothing Center will be open on Saturdays, Nov. 3 and 17, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The Clothing Center is located directly across from the church.
Infant CPR classes slated
NORWAY — The Family Birthplace at Stephens Memorial Hospital will offer an Infant CPR class from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, in the Harper Conference Center in the Ripley Medical Office Building, 193 Main St.
Learn the skills to do CPR and choking rescue on an infant up to the age of one year. This is a hands-on experience with manikins providing an opportunity to practice skills.

OTISFIELD — The Annual Meeting of The Elmwood Cemetery Association will be held at the East Otisfield Baptist Church at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3.
Veterans Home craft fair
PARIS — A craft fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Maine Veterans Home, 477 High St. The refreshment counter will be open.
